The BS IET Wiring Regulations 18th Edition, specifically codes AG2-AG3, recommend the installation of reinforced protection in areas with a potential for medium to high impact. The IET Code of Practice for EV Charging Equipment Installation mandates that publicly accessible charging stations be equipped to withstand a minimum impact severity of AG2, as defined in BS76741 (18th Edition). Charge-M8 advises the strategic use of solid tyre stops as an initial safeguard, with impact barriers serving as a comprehensive secondary protection for instances where tyre stops are either bypassed or when the vehicle’s overhang extends beyond their protective range.
