Emaar Properties has announced a transformative lighting upgrade for the Burj Khalifa. The advanced RGBW lighting system, which integrates innovative technology with architectural elegance, will premiere during the UAE’s Eid Al Etihad celebrations on 1 December 2024. The upgrade coincides with the countdown to the tower’s 15th anniversary on 4 January 2025.
The new system transforms the building’s iconic façade with an extensive palette of colours and dynamic effects, enriching the guest experience while reaffirming Dubai’s prominence as a leader in urban design and innovation.
The project involved six months of testing to ensure flawless execution. The RGBW technology replaces static lighting with dynamic, colour-changing fixtures that produce intricate lighting patterns. These effects seamlessly integrate with the Burj Khalifa’s media screen, complementing the tower’s architecture and adapting to diverse events and occasions.
