Smart Reporting to Demonstrate AI’s Role in Radiology at RSNA 2023

Smart Reporting is excited to participate in the upcoming Imaging Artificial Intelligence in Practice (IAIP) demonstration, set to occur from November 26th to 29th, 2023, at the Radiological Society of North America’s 109th Scientific Assembly and Annual Meeting (“RSNA 2023”). Held at McCormick Place in Chicago, this annual forum is renowned as the leading global imaging event. The IAIP demonstration is a collective initiative designed to showcase the smooth integration of AI into the diagnostic radiology workflow. This interactive exhibit is structured to provide a comprehensive understanding of AI’s capabilities, assist attendees in formulating essential queries, and prepare them to effectively integrate and expand AI in their radiology practices. Located at South Hall A, Level 3, Booth 4358, the AI Showcase featuring the IAIP demonstration will conduct tours every 30 minutes during RSNA 2023, with a media tour for journalists on Tuesday, November 28, from 10:00-11:00 am.

Incorporating real-life clinical scenarios that span urgent and long-term care, the IAIP demonstration will display the contributions of 20 vendors with 28 state-of-the-art products. Participants at RSNA 2023 will experience various radiology workflow stages, witnessing firsthand the application of AI tools, health IT standards, and reporting solutions.

The demonstration will highlight critical points in the radiology workflow where AI can enhance radiologist support, improve efficiency, and raise the standard of care. These include radiologist scheduling, imaging examination ordering, acquisition protocoling, AI-supported image interpretation at the point of care, synoptic reporting, and integration with electronic health records.

“As a leader in HealthTech, we are excited to join the IAIP demonstration at RSNA 2023. This collaborative effort underscores our commitment to advancing the field of radiology through the integration of cutting-edge AI solutions. We believe that by leveraging AI technology within the radiology workflow, we can empower healthcare professionals to provide faster input, achieve better output, and ultimately deliver smarter care to patients”, comments Philipp Matthies, Head of Research & Innovation at Smart Reporting.

Smart Reporting’s SmartReports will play a crucial role in a live demo that covers the entire radiology workflow, including Worklist, PACS, AI Orchestrator solutions, Fovia’s AI findings viewer, and AI solutions from Siemens Healthineers and Qure AI. Following the AI findings review, relevant coded findings will be automatically transferred to SmartReports using HL7 FHIR. SmartReports will then create, modify, complete, and distribute synoptic reports for accessibility in organisational and clinical analytics.

IAIP is a collaborative venture with partners from the industry, radiology, and imaging informatics, powered by standards such as DICOM, HL7 FHIR, the IHE framework, CDE reporting, and more.

Visitors are welcomed to meet the Smart Reporting team at RSNA 2023 (South Hall Level 3, Booth 4953) to discover more about SmartReports and the evolution of radiology.
